Hooray!
What we know: He's arrived! 10:56am birth and weighs 7 lbs 3 oz! Heart issues are as expected: complete AVSD, DORV, pulmonary stenosis. Right atrial isomerism is confirmed (stomach and liver are on the wrong/inverted side). Sonogram results regarding the spleen should be back anytime, we've been advised that based on other results, it's highly unlikely he has one. Antibiotics have just been started. GI testing for malrotated organs begins tomorrow morning; that's the big "unknown" that we request prayer for.
He is beautiful and breathing room air... and is doing great overall! So is Allison! We are beyond thankful so far, and the staff here at the Vidant NICU have been incredible.
We feel so loved by all of you; thanks for your encouragement and prayer!
