A Post About Keller's Cousin
Some of you out there don't know me. Some of you found us because of our families and friends that have shared our story. You might not know our families at all. We have wonderful and supportive families I have a brother and Phillip has a brother and sister. We have two nieces and two nephews that we know and love and one that is baking. But I want to talk to you about a member of my family I haven't met. Keller and Norah have a cousin we don't know. He or she lives in Poland. We don't know when he or she was born, though we can guess they have been born by now. We don't know what they look like or what they like to do. I don't know what makes them special. I don't know if they can hear, if they will need glasses, if they have 10 fingers and 10 toes, or if they are on what America calls "the spectrum." I can't even speak their native tongue. I know embarrassing little about their country and traditions. I know only one thing that matters: he or she is loved. There is family waiting for them here. It's odd to think about a child in another country that knows nothing of a family's love but they already have it. This child has loving parents that want nothing more than to bring them home and introduce them to their doggie big brother and show them their room. This child has 2 grandmas and 2 grandpas and 2 aunts and an uncle and cousins and friends and they know nothing of it. We all love this Polish Kid so much and can't wait to get to know them, on their terms, of course. Adoption is a beautiful thing but a long, emotionally draining and painful and expensive process. If you happen to know and love The Arthur's or you just love adoption there is a way you can help. They are selling shirts to raise funds-the company is Chrome Buffalo the drive to benefit them is called PK and the Gang.
